THEY met on the set of Queen biopic Bohemian Rhapsody when he portrayed Radio Ga Ga hitmaker Freddie Mercury and she played his girlfriend Mary Austin.
And five years on, I can reveal Rami Malek and Lucy Boynton have called time on their romance.
Insiders told me the couple, who have not been pictured together since February, ended their love affair earlier this year after drifting apart.
Since then, Bond villain Rami has surrounded himself with pals including The Crown’s Emma Corrin — who I am told flew into the UK to watch Bruce Springsteen with him at BST Hyde Park last month.
A source said: “Rami and Lucy split earlier this year without much fanfare.
“They were together for a long time but had grown apart. They are both moving on with their lives and are busy with work.

“Rami has surrounded himself with his mates and has spent the summer enjoying himself.
“He asked Emma to join him to watch Bruce at BST last month and they had a great time.
“Rami is enjoying life and living it up.”
Questions over whether he and Lucy had split emerged earlier this year when they stopped being seen in public together.

‘Captured my heart’
Last month Lucy was spotted at Wimbledon without Rami, who was snapped just over a week later enjoying the sunshine in the capital with pals including Mamma Mia! actor Dominic Cooper and Rachel Brosnahan from Amazon Prime comedy The Marvelous Mrs Maisel.
The pair previously gushed about one another, with Rami declaring his love for Lucy on stage at the Oscars in 2019 when he picked up the Best Actor gong for his turn as Freddie.
He told the audience: “Lucy Boynton — you are the heart of this film, you are beyond immensely talented, you have captured my heart.”
Given that Rami is one of Hollywood’s brightest stars, I have no doubt someone else will soon capture it again.
Emily's a sweet convert
EMILY RATAJKOWSKI steps out in New York City with her pooch Colombo, after opening up about her love for Taylor Swift.
She admitted she never used to like the superstar’s music, but now reckons people who can’t appreciate it are not “sophisticated” enough.
Emily said: “I was not a Swiftie and now I’m like, ‘You know what that means? That means I was a misogynist. That I didn’t f*** with Taylor Swift’. Because I went to her concert and I was like, ‘This person is an incredible songwriter, an incredible performer, and any-body who says anything else?
“‘Like, they have issues. And actually maybe not a very sophisticated palette’.
“If you don’t like Taylor Swift, then, like, you don’t understand things.”
Lizzo blasts her accusers
LIZZO has been advised to hire a private investigator to get to the bottom of mounting claims of bullying and sexual harassment against her.
It comes after she enlisted Hollywood legal ace Marty Singer – whose previous clients include Kim Kardashian and Bill Cosby – to represent her.
Those in the Truth Hurts singer’s inner circle fear a televised court showdown, as she digs in her heels and categorically denies all the claims by former dancers who worked with her on tour.
A source said: “Lizzo feels she is being blamed for actions carried out by those who work for her, and has been advised to hire a third-party investigator. She is in talks with crisis managers and lawyers every day.”
One of the dancers in the sexual harassment lawsuit, Arianna Davis, said of Lizzo on Channel 4 News: “I do look up to her for using her platform to address issues that other artists were doing, but knowing her now... it was performative.”
Lizzo hit back at her accusers in a statement on Thursday, saying: “These sensationalised stories are coming from former employees who have already publicly admitted that they were told their behaviour on tour was inappropriate and unprofessional.” But the dancers’ attorney fired back: “Given that Lizzo is denying that any of this happened, let’s take it to trial.
“More witnesses are coming forward every day corroborating the plaintiffs’ allegations, so we are looking forward to facing Lizzo and her team in court.”
Spongebob aims at BoJo in show
THE SpongeBob Musical has taken a surprisingly political turn, by poking fun at Downing Street’s handling of the Covid pandemic.
The show – starring Lewis Cornay, pictured, as the lead as well as singer Gareth Gates and telly’s Tom Read Wilson alternating for the role of Squidward – sees the land of Bikini Bottom threatened by potential destruction – and “Drowning Street” struggling to cope. Just like the slogan, “Stay home, protect the NHS, save lives,” they issue guidance to “Stay home, protect the kelp, save yourselves.”
As disaster breaks, the mayor says: “Everything is going to be OK. Everyone knows you can always trust the government.” But later on, in scenes reminiscent of Boris Johnson, the mayor admits: “I should apologise for my flagrant abuses of power. Mistakes were made.”
Nominated for 12 Tony awards on Broadway, the hilarious production will run at Queen Elizabeth Hall on London’s South Bank until August 27 with further dates in Plymouth and Newcastle.

The reality star’s latest deal has seen her sign up as pizza chain Papa Johns’ new “Head of Cheese” – and posed for this snap to announce the tie-in.
Gemma, who has previously done deals with Wizz Air, Surf washing powder and Walkers crisps, said: “Darlings, there’s no challenge The GC can’t rise to.”
