Paul Whitehouse was born in May 1958 - making him 64.
He is originally from Wales, his dad worked for the National Coal Board and his mum was a Welsh opera singer.
The family moved to Enfield, North London, when he was four and he said it was other children laughing at his accent that helped him become so good at mimicry.
He went to the University of East Anglia but dropped out and lived in a flat in Hackney, east London, occasionally working as a plasterer.

Paul originally started writing comedy with Charlie Higson, both still working as tradesman during the day.
They were doing some work on a house shared by Stephen Fry and Hugh Laurie and that was said to have inspired them.
