NOTTINGHAM FOREST look to have missed out on another Clough, after their £2million bid for Bolton striker Zach was turned down.
Only days after club legend Nigel Clough turned down the opportunity to follow in his dad Brian's footsteps and manage the club, Forest have been spurned in their advances for the young Bolton man.
Bolton are still in a period of uncertainty after ownership wrangles as well as rumours of financial difficulty.

In the summer they were told by the Football League that they must limit their squad to just 23 players due to not abiding by financial fair play, and recently chairman Ken Anderson met town council chiefs to discuss the "rates" the club pays.

The Nottingham Post reports that Clough could be cashed in to ease any cash flow worries, but that as well as Forest, Newcastle and "several other" Championship sides are in the hunt.
Clough burst onto the scene two seasons ago after breaking into the first-team following his rapid rise through the academy, where he joined at the age of eight.
He bagged six goals in 10 games that campaign before injury hindered his progress last year.
A dislocated shoulder kept him out for a large chunk as Bolton were relegated into League One – but he still managed to hit the net seven times.

The young forward has been in scintillating for the promotion chasing Trotters this season.
Bolton have been struggling financially for a number of years now.
Before Christmas it was reported that they may face the possibility of administration unless a deal could be struck between chairman Ken Anderson and director Dean Holdsworth.
Anderson and former Wanderers striker Holdsworth took over at Bolton in March in a joint deal worth a reported £7.5million.
Holdsworth has since left the club.
Nottingham Forest are in a similar period of instability after Nigel Clough rejected the chance to follow in his father’s footsteps and manage the club.
The Burton Albion boss looked set to take over at the City Ground following successful talks with Fawaz Al-Hasawi but has now decided to stay where he is.
He told Burton’s website: “Having started this historic season in the Championship, it is only right that we should stay and continue the job of trying to achieve the miracle of keeping Burton Albion in the Championship.
